Thematic information surface representing the content of the book
Exploring Geovisualization. The higher the surface, the greater the number of articles sharing a similar theme. This
surface, which appears on the cover of the book, can be used to navigate the book's content in a non-linear, but arguably more useful way.
The surface itself was generated by Sara Fabrikant from analysis of chapter keywords. It was smoothed in LandSerf using
bi-quadratic regression to produce a generalised surface with contours. Textual annotation was added by Jason Dykes using SVG to produce
an interactive index of the book.
