Scaling
| Scaling a body means resizing it to the dimension you specify. | |||

This task shows how to scale a body in relation to a point. | ||
 |
Open the Scaling1.CATPart document. | ||
 |
1. | Select the body to be scaled. | |

| 2. | Click the Scaling icon  . The Scaling Definition dialog box appears. |
 |
|
| 3. | Select the reference point located on the body.
A graphic manipulator is displayed on the body. |

| 4. | Enter a value in the Ratio field or select the manipulator and drag it. The ratio increases as you drag the manipulator in the direction pointed by the right end arrow. | ||
|

| 5. | Click OK. The body is scaled. The specification tree indicates you performed this operation. |

You can also resize a body in relation to a face or plane. In the example below, the plane zx is the reference element and the ratio is 1.6. You obtain then an affinity. | ||
