Legibility

Legibility, is a measure of how well the text can be viewed and the letters and words recognised by the reader.  Legibility does not consider how well the reader can interpret the information but merely how they perceive the information. It can be affected by a number of factors including type face, contrast, point size, leading, letter spacing and paper finish.

The research will look at publications provided and score legibility using the PILAF. An evaluation checklist tool developed by the researcher, which was based on the NHS Toolkit for producing patient information.

This information will follow later this year.
